David W. Bianchi is the author of “Blue Chip Kids, What Every Child and Parent Should Know About Money, Investing and The Stock Market.” As the father of a 12 year old, he was frustrated by the fact that his son was learning nothing about money and investing in school and there were no financial literacy classes on the horizon. His solution: he would teach it himself. What started out as a modest plan to “write a few pages,” ultimately lead to this book with 100 topics and 160 kid-friendly illustrations.

David has been a lawyer and an investor for the past 36 years.  Most recently he was Chairman of GnuBio, a spin-out from Harvard University that was developing a desktop DNA sequencing machine.  The company was sold to Bio-Rad, Inc. in 2014.  He was an original investor and board member of Affomix, Inc. a spin-out from Yale University that was developing a new antibody technology.  Affomix was subsequently sold to Illumina, Inc.  He was a founder of Florida Savings Bank and served as vice-chairman and a board member.  FSB was later sold to Commerce Bank.  He has invested in various commercial real estate deals over the years as well.  In his law practice he has represented clients in injury and wrongful death cases for his entire career.  His notable results include the largest fraternity hazing verdict in the country, the first defective airbag verdict against Mercedes Benz in the country and many others.  He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in numerous publications including the prestigious “Best Lawyers in America,” “Florida Super Lawyers,” and others.  He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics from Tufts University and obtained his law degree from Boston College Law School.
